IEEE Brain is pleased to announce its acceptance as a nonprofit member of the American Brain Coalition (ABC), a prestigious alliance of over 150 organizations dedicated to advancing brain research, advocacy, and improving treatments for individuals affected by brain conditions.
The ABC Board has enthusiastically welcomed IEEE Brain into its network, reinforcing a shared commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in neuroscience and brain health. As part of this membership, IEEE Brain will be featured in ABC’s eNews Update, connecting it with fellow members and observers. Additionally, IEEE Brain’s logo will be displayed alongside other leading organizations on the ABC website, increasing visibility and engagement within the brain research community.
This partnership will further IEEE Brain’s mission by enhancing collaboration opportunities, amplifying important research and technological advancements, and advocating for the long-term value of brain research funding in the United States.
Key ABC activities include:
Advocacy: The advocacy program keeps members informed about brain and health policy issues, providing resources for coordinated action. Explore latest efforts on the Advocacy web pages.
Patient Engagement with the FDA: Through the ABC Innovation Initiative (ABCI2), we drive private investment in neuroscience research and accelerate the development of new treatments and cures. By engaging with the FDA, ABC ensures that diverse stakeholders—especially patients and their families—have a voice in critical discussions and decision-making processes.
Congressional Neuroscience Caucus (CNC) Partnership: As a core partner, ABC hosts CNC briefings and events to raise awareness of brain diseases, improve understanding of brain development and aging, and address pressing mental health challenges affecting millions of Americans.
In recognition of this significant collaboration, IEEE Brain will also receive an exclusive ABC Member Seal, signifying its dedication to the broader brain community. This seal will be prominently displayed on the IEEE Brain website, showcasing its commitment to advancing brain research and improving the lives of those affected by neurological conditions.
“We are honored to join the American Brain Coalition and look forward to working together to drive meaningful progress in brain science and technology,” said Cynthia Weber, IEEE Brain Program Manager. “Through this partnership, we aim to support advocacy efforts, promote innovation, and contribute to improving treatments for individuals with brain conditions.”
